Rodney Meadow has been the focus of a lot of time and effort over the last few seasons. The new fish stocked in 2007 have been doing exceedingly well, with well over half of them now in excess of twenty pounds. The old originals are flourishing too, with new records being set – including the ¾ Linear which was banked in June 2008 at 44lb 4oz.
Along with Harefield Lake, it was once one of the UK’s top carp waters, and a who’s who of carp fishing has trodden its banks at one time or another.
Despite a few setbacks things have gone well at this beautiful venue, which quickly filled its membership last season and continues to attract a large number of membership enquiries.
Rodney Meadow is a mature twelve acre venue comprising of many small bays, islands and many carpylooking features. Gravel beds litter the lake bed and silty patches can easily be found. The lake gets fairly weedy in the summer months and the incredible variety of natural food that the lake contains shows in the fantastic growth rates we have recorded over the last year.
Situated at the end of a long drive hundreds of metres from the nearest road, Rodney is a secure combination locked venue which shares both its car park and toilet facilities with neighbouring water Mayfields Lake.
