The Willesley Estate comprises a total area of forty acres – the lake being twenty four acres surrounded by a mature forest of sixteen acres with a fast stream which drains the lake running through the woods. Several platforms or pontoons have been constructed, two specifically to allow fishing from a wheelchair, and also to enable these disabled fishermen access to convenient pegs from which to enjoy the beauty of the lake and its best fishing stock.
It is a beautiful mature estate lake of approximately twenty four acres. The depth ranges from very shallow to about twenty feet at the deepest point - but for the most part averages five to six feet. There are trees and bushes around the perimeter and also an island which forms a bird sanctuary and acts as a focal point of the property.
The lake has many hundreds of carp with a mixture of both mirror and common carp. There is a good stock of twenty to thirty pounders and recently a couple of carp exceeding thirty pounds have been landed. The lake also has a large stock of Coarse fish including bream, roach, cruscian carp, tench, perch and gudgeon.
