Details

This complex consists of four ponds, one at Charlecombe and the three at Spring Ponds. These waters are approximately 3 miles from the centre of Newton Abbot. It is our most popular venue for the pleasure angler and being close to Torquay continues to be a must with holiday anglers.

To find these ponds, traveling from Newton Abbot, head towards Combeinteignhead and turn right on the sharp bend in the centre of the village going past the Wild Goose Pub. After about a mile, take the right hand fork and Charlecombe is almost immediately on the right thereafter (g.r.912708). Spring Ponds are further mile up this road, again on the right (g.r.909698). From Torquay, head towards Maidencombe, and then follow the signs for Stokeinteignhead and Combeinteignhead, then follow directions as above. There is a bailiff in attendance most days at these waters, they do not issue day tickets; these can be purchased at the normal outlets. On most Friday mornings during the summer months the bailiff, Ray Faux, can be found working on these waters, help is always appreciated, please refer to the notice board for info.

Charlecombe Pond
Charlecombe consists of one pond holding carp to 20lbs, bream, roach, rudd and crucians. This water provides excellent sport on light tackle for the carp.

Spring Ponds (Disabled Toilet Accommodation on site)
These are three small farm ponds that were originally excavated as trout waters. All the ponds are well stocked with carp, from 2oz to 13lb with good roach, rudd, crucians and bream. With lots of silver fish these waters provide almost guaranteed action and are well worth finding.
