Bain Valley Fisheries can be found in the picturesque village of Tattershall Thorpe, deep in the heart of rural Lincolnshire. Set in farmland, the 7 lakes are all man made from old quarry pits and can be up to 11ft deep.
Spitfire
Spitfire and Hurricane are mature lakes and are about 2 acres in size with 16 pegs on each. Spitfire, at up to 13ft, is the deepest. It is stocked with Mirror (to 22lb), Common, Crucian and Ghost Carp as well as Tench (to 6ib), Rudd, Roach and Ide.
Hurricane
Hurricane is up to 7ft deep and is stocked with Mirror and Common Carp, Tench (to 7lb), Rudd, Roach and Bream.
Lancaster
Lancaster is the largest lake and is presently a syndicate specimen lake.
Halifax
Halifax covers 8 acres and has 35 pegs. It is stocked with Mirror and Common carp,Tench, Rudd and Roach. Carp are the main species with very high numbers averaging 6lb. Also a good head of doubles and specimen fish over 28lb. Tench to 4lb.
Mosquito
Mosquito is the Trout lake. Stocked with Rainbows and Browns to 8 1/2lb. It is also well stocked with Blue Trout which so far no one has managed to catch! Will you be the first?
Stirling
With 10 acres and 40 pegs Stirling is the largest pleasure/match lake. Well stocked with Common, Mirror and Ghost Carp up to 28lb, Tench to 7lb, Bream and Perch to 3lb.
Wellington
Wellington covers 16 acres of which 5 acres are woodland. Until 2008 it has been used solely for irrigation. The lake is about 40 years old and was stocked with Bream, Tench andCarp in 1995. The best fish so far is a Common Carp at 35 1/2lb.
