The lake was originally a trout fishery. We opened as a course fishery in 1994, the lake has a ballast and chalk bottom. The lake averages about 12 feet deep but it is 35 feet deep in places. It has a island in the middle and is fed by three natural springs.
The lake has over hanging weeping willow trees around the edges, the fish spawn on the roots of the trees in the spring, we get lots of fry each year.
At the far end of the fishery we have a fishing lodge were we sell a few bits of bait and tackle. Next to the lodge we have the ladies and gents toilets.
We have a large secure car park with CCTV in operation. Also in the car park we have a snack bar which is open from 7am - 2 pm Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays) where you can buy hot and cold food and drinks.
The fishery is only a few minutes walk from the train station and bus stops.
