For a diversity of fishing opportunities look no further than Hawford Bridge. The 3 mature lakes and 1 mile stretch of river offer a variety of fishing challenges throughout the year.
Penlake
Penlake is the first lake that you will see on entering the fishery and parking is available at either end. With a number of central islands and reed beds each of the 25 pegs offers opportunities to the angler and many are secluded and private. This is the main match water for the fishery and is stocked with mid-size carp although a number of specimens also patrol the margins and islands. The trees and mature landscaping offer protection in Winter and shade in the Summer.
Broomhill
At nearly 2 acres this is the middle of the 3 lakes and with its islands and reed beds it offers similar challenge to the angler as Penlake. Stocked with smaller carp and a large head of silvers Broomhill offers some of the best pleasure fishing on the fishery. Fishing with light gear can provide fantastic sport but be prepared in case you tempt one of the big doubles!
The Bridge
The Bridge is the bottom lake of the 3 tier layout and as such is probably the most lightly fished lake. With a large central island it offers more open water than the others and as such requires more careful feeding and choice of method. With a good mixed stock of fish and depths to 9 feet patience is often the key to a big weight. Ledgering can be a productive way to find the fish in the bigger bays.
