If angling is as much about the wildlife and surrounding countryside as it is about catching fish, Lychgate Fisheries in Stoke Golding, Warwickshire should score high on the list of UK venues. There are three beautiful and surprisingly mature lakes, each with their own personality on this site. All are available on a day ticket of £5 which will be collected from your peg.

The Match Lake
The Match Lake is a canal style pool set in a picturesque setting with resident Kingfishers and other wildlife with 50 well spaced pegs allowing anglers privacy whilst enjoying the countryside.

It is stocked mainly with silver fish eg: Tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch but carp also in good numbers. In fact, virtually every UK species with the exception of Pike and Zander (Perch and Chub to specimen size). Stock is actively managed.

There is opportunity to participate in Open matches, held every Wednesday and Saturday. Draw 9am, Fish 10am - 3pm.
Top match weight this year so far is 47lb caught by local match ace, Danny "Draw Bag" Ross.

The Carp lake
The Carp lake is the largest on site. It is a lake aimed at the specimen angler, with night fishing welcome by prior arrangement. Advance booking recommended to avoid disappointment.
There are very few day ticket venues in the area that offer this quality and quantity of specimen carp.

Mirror Carp in excess of 35lb
Common Carp in excess of 30lb
This years best is currently 29 1/2 lb

Small carp are regularly removed from the lake, giving an average size of mid double figures and every chance of a new personal best. Whilst not the easiest of lakes to master, rewards can be outstanding with a recent 24hr session giving a local angler 18 fish, including 6 different 20lb+ fish up to 25.12lb.

The Stock lake
The Stock lake lends itself to a variety of methods, whether it be pole, rod and line or feeder. Carp are the main target from 1lb upwards into double figures. Comfortable fishing, no long walks and with car parking very close to pegs. Fishing this lake is ideal for any capability, including novice and is in a good family setting with space for picnics and barbecues.

This lake is also available for match bookings and is also suitable for overnight fishing.

Good car parking, large, level pegs and easy access to the Match and Carp Lakes will suit all anglers including the less abled.

Young anglers are welcome and if they are fishing from the same peg as a responsible adult they do not pay. Concessionary tickets are available at £3 after 4.00pm in the summer.

Barbless hooks.
Absolutely no litter to be left behind. It must be cleared away and taken home with you for disposal.
Everyone must enjoy themselves, regardless of catch.
