Onny Vale is set in the peaceful hills of the Mid Shropshire and Powys border, which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. There are five lakes/pools set below Corndon Hill, overlooked by Staperley Hill. Three pools are for Trout, Fly Fishing Only and the other two are for coarse fishing.
Pleasure Pool
There is a small coarse pleasure pool, spring fed with a clay bottom. This pool has roach, perch, chub, rudd, gudgeon, bream, tench, crucians, ghost carp, common carp and mirror carp. The carp range in size up to 25 lbs and there are 20 pegs on this pool. Also it has several concrete bases which are allocated to disabled anglers. Night fishing is not allowed on this pool.
Specimen Pool
This is stocked with ghost, common, mirror and coy carp. These carp are now 20lbs (9 Kilos) plus in weight with a 25 lbs 4 ozs (11.48 Kilos) specimen being recorded. Other species found in this pool are barbel, roach, perch, chub, bream, rudd, gudgeon, tench and crucians. The pool is mature and well screened off with trees. At this moment there are 34 pegs to fish from with 2 islands to fish to. Night fishing is allowed on this pool, but must be booked in advance through dave.
