Southlake Angling Society is a thriving angling club, situated in Woodley, Berkshire. Established in 1969 the Society has three venues, catering for the specimen hunter, match and pleasure angler.
Redlands is just over 8 acres with 40 swims and is owned by the Society. This lake is our general fishery with matches being held throughout the season. There are large shoals of bream to over 8lb, plus good stocks of roach, rudd, tench, perch and pike. Last season the lake produced several large tench with the biggest weighing 9lb 4oz.
The lake is also stocked with carp, the lake record being a heavily scaled mirror of 36lb. There are several upper 20lb original fish including 2 commons of 28lb. These original fish are supported by a quantity of fast growing "Fishers Pond" mirrors. The majority of these were stocked in 2001 at just over 6lb and several of them are now over 20lb and the best last season was reported at 25lb 4ozs.
