Fishing is from the small triangular piece of land on right hand bank downstream of the Toll Bridge opposite the weir. Although there are only 3 swims, the potential is enormous. There is a large area of water to fish and it is known to hold good barbel, pike and all other Avon species.
Match weights often exceed 30lb on the upper reaches to perhaps 60lb on the lower reaches near Melksham (if the bream are feeding!). Large barbel are easy to locate and catch on this stretch of river.
The Long Meadow is noted for quality sport. BIG roach. BIG chub. BIG bream. BIG barbel. Very productive at all times of the year.
A real hot-spot for specimen fish including barbel, chub and pike. Fishing can be quite superb and as good as anywhere on the river.

Although fishing is difficult when the water is clear it has produced roach and perch of over 3lb and carp of 20lb plus in the past two seasons. Our water at Malmesbury is one of the few places where it is possible to catch that elusive 2lb plus roach from shoals of similar size fish.

This stretch of river is as good as any in the south-west, if not the country with loads of bream, roach, hybrids and chub for the match and pleasure angler; as well as big pike for specimen anglers. The bream average 4 to 5 pounds and 100 lb catches are commonplace. Also, the numbers of good roach (1 lb plus) are impressive with quite a few 2 pounders being caught every season.

The river drops down through Warleigh in a steep valley, here the water runs fast through pools and weed beds and shelters huge barbel. One recorded at 15½lb weight, is very close to the national rod caught record. Roach, dace, chub, tench, perch and bream flourish in this stretch.

River Colne will provide mixed bags containing roach, dace, bleak, perch and chub. Stretching from the Tiger Cubs Indian restaurant on the Oxford Road just outside Uxbridge Town Centre to the weir at the bridge over the A40 Western Avenue, Boyer Leisure’s section of the River Colne provides over a quarter of a mile of single bank fishing. Producing some decent bags to anglers who get it right on the day the Colne has seen bream to 5lb and the odd tench to 4lb.
River Thames Taplow starting from just below Bray Lock and stretched upriver for ¾ of a mile the Thames at Taplow produces just about everything. Mixed bags of roach, dace, perch and chub have been reported – some of the Perch reaching a few pounds. Anglers fishing near to the lock have observed fair numbers of carp during the summer months – the floods during the last couple of seasons have likely benefited the Thames and many other rivers throughout the country.
Chard and District Angling Club hold the rights to fish a quarter of a mile stretch of the River Isle. Parking is available next to the bridge adjacent to Powermatic Limited. Follow the public footpath sign which will take you along the river up to the double spanned road bridge which marks the end of the C and DACs stretch of the river. Sections of the river vary in depth, width and flow. Chub, Roach, Rudd and Grayling are plentiful in these waters.
