River Avon - Severals

Details

A famous stretch of the Hampshire Avon of approximately 2 Miles. Severals starts at the Railway bridge and continues down to the top boundary of Lower Severals (where Bickerley Millstream joins the main river). This stretch offers some excellent trotting, trundling or ledgering swims of varying depth and pace, ideally suited to both a mobile and static approach.

Barbel, Chub, Dace, Roach, Grayling, Pike, Perch, Eels, occasional Bream, Carp, Tench

No cans or bottles to be taken onto the fishery.
Keep to the river banks or public footpaths - do not cut across fields.
ALWAYS use adequate and well balanced tackle when targeting or expecting Barbel. RDAA recommend no less than 6lb line with a suitably strong hook.

TOP TIP:
Float fish clear gravel runs between weed beds for Dace, Grayling, Chub and Barbel. Ledgered Cheese paste can sometimes interest Chub when all else fails. Rolling meat can be devastating for Barbel, use a weighted size 4 hook buried in a lump of meat. Cast upstream onto clear gravel runs and 'feel' the bait trundle through the swim.
